Dr. Rakesh C. Tailor started his pre-career with Dr. Bishop & Associates in 1997 as a technician while earning his Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Calgary.
After graduation, he decided to pursue his passion for optometry in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He graduated in 2006 with honours as a Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honour Society member. After obtaining his Doctor of Optometry, Dr. Tailor returned home and took up practice at Dr. Bishop & Associates.
Dr. Tailor takes time out of his regular work to support and distribute worldwide eye health care through the OneSight program. He also volunteers at CUPS (Calgary Urban Project Society), a non-profit organization with a series of programs and services dedicated to providing primary health care to adults and families living in poverty. In addition, Dr. Tailor has donated his time and services to underserved communities in Mexico, Punjab, Goa, and Thailand with the eyeglass recycling program.
Dr. Tailor is a member in good standing with the Alberta Association of Optometrists and the local Calgary Society of Optometrists.
Dr. Tailor is an avid Calgary Flames fan during the winter months. In the summer, when not working or travelling, Dr. Tailor enjoys spending time locally with family and friends. He also likes going on local mountain road trips to take in what Calgary and the surrounding areas have to offer.
