What Is Lumecca IPL Therapy?

Lumecca is a powerful, handheld IPL technology that uses pulsating light to gently heat deep layers of your skin, stimulating collagen production.

Collagen is a naturally occurring substance in your body, but as you age, its production decreases, leading to various aesthetic skin issues like fine lines, wrinkles, acne scarring, spider veins, and more.

Benefits of IPL Therapy for Skin

Lumecca IPL therapy is a versatile tool that can address a broad range of skin concerns. From early onset signs of aging to residual marks from past skin conditions, Lumecca IPL can help mitigate:

  • Fine lines and crow’s feet: Crow’s feet and fine lines are often the earliest signs of aging. They typically appear around the edges of your eyes, sometimes reaching the temples. IPL therapy can help rejuvenate these areas.
  • Sun damage: UV radiation from the sun can affect the natural oils in your skin and cause sun spots. IPL therapy can help address these concerns.
  • Vascular lesions: Vascular lesions or spider veins become more visible as you age, especially on your legs and feet. IPL therapy can help reduce their appearance.
  • Rosacea: Rosacea is a skin condition that causes redness or visible blood vessels. It may cause additional symptoms like burning, eye discomfort, or swollen bumps. IPL therapy can help manage these symptoms.

Lumecca IPL treatments can also address freckles, age spots, and acne scarring.

What to Expect from IPL Treatment

IPL treatments use controlled pulses of light to target specific areas without affecting surrounding tissue. In just one session, IPL can treat multiple skin problems, resulting in a brighter skin tone, reduced redness, and diminished fine lines for a rejuvenated complexion.

However, we might recommend additional treatments or products to help you achieve the results you’re looking for.

The Consultation

We’ll start the process with a consultation to examine your skin, discuss your goals, and prepare a personalized treatment plan based on your needs.

Before your IPL session, we recommend using high-SPF sunscreen daily while avoiding sun exposure and tanning beds.

During your appointment, you’ll receive eye protection and a cooling gel. The IPL device delivers pulses of light, causing a quick snapping or tingling sensation.

After treatment, you may experience redness and a warm sensation like mild sunburn, but these symptoms typically subside within a few hours.

It’s crucial to avoid sun exposure directly after your treatment. Use a high-SPF sunscreen and protect your face from direct sunlight.

If you experience swelling, blistering, or crusting, contact our team. While your skin may heal within a week, it may take up to a month for the full results to show.

Once fully recovered, you can enjoy a more even complexion and reduced signs of aging. In some cases, we may also recommend regular maintenance appointments to support the results of your IPL treatment.
